Burot Beach is a relatively calm and peaceful place. It is generally for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, unwind and recharge.

Burot Beach is located in Calatagan Batangas. Travel time is around 3 to 4 hours depending on a traffic. It is a cheap destination with a budget less than 1000PHP.

Burot is the favorite beach destination for those who seek a quick weekend getaway. It's a beach enjoyed most by people who appreciate tranquility, peace and natural beauty.

  • Day Tour : 65.oo PHP
  • Overnighy : 130.oo PHP
During our visit (October 10, 2014). Burot beach is undeveloped. No electricity, no hotels and posh accomodations, but there are makeshift cottages for day trippers to stay at. If u wish to stay overhight bring your own camping equipment.

***Ofcourse after we built the tent of Kuya Richard and Jeric, we took a lunch and the food of Ate Charmagne was the Center of Kainan... XD

Tip: Buy your fresh goods at Manila. Meat, vegetables, and fruits are more expensive at Calatagan because they just get the supplies at Manila.

Burot beach has a stretch semi fine cream sand beach kissed by calm waters. Beautiful rock formations and dotted of trees.

Hot To Get There (by commuting):

Take a bus going to Calatagan. The terminal is near the Kabayan Hotel at the EDSA- Pasay Taft MRT Station. Fare is PHP 180.oo per person. Ask to be let down at the Calatagan market. Take a tricycle to Burot Beach. Fare is PHP 150.oo per person.

***Unfortunately the weather wasnt good, the typhoon fell about 6 in the evening. (atleast nakapaphotoshoot na kami at nakapagenjoy sa tirik ng araw bago dumating ang nakakalokang bagyo) Hahah XD

***So we need to evacuate from Burot Beach going to some place that we are accesible to rest while waiting the night end. Well atleast we got cheapest transient house near in that beach.


Other Notes/Tips:
Bring at least 3L drinking water.
Bring coffee powder, canned foods and snacks.
Bring your flashlight as the electricity is intermittent.

Trivia: The word "Calatagan" is taken from the Tagalog word "latag" and is closely associated with "kapatagan", which means a vast portion of flat land lying between the hills and mountains. Thus, Calatagan means a large expanse of wide flat land.
